The statement was mentioned if George Bush knew that gas prices in some cities were almost $4.00. He responded," really, I hadn't heard that", how can anyone especially an oil Barron like George Bush act as if there is nothing going on in the world except the war in Iraq. I cannot wait until he is out of office. If we have another President that is not sensitive to the American people and what our troubles are then we are in a lot of trouble. I would like to hear my peers thoughts on whether a President should be sensitive or insensitive to the American people state of economic distress.

George W. Bush is the worst president ever. What type of president is that!!. How come I know more than him about gas price???. This guy is a joke I don't even know how he got elected in the first place, I don't know what America was thinking.
Maybe...America *wasn't* thinking at the moment.
When George doesnt want to admit something, all he does is say "really? wow, okay, good to know!" I've seen him do it alot.
I think it all comes down to the rich and the dumb who elected him. Not including the 30 million strong evangelists who love George and STILL do. Ted Haggard of all people, influenced Bush more than you'd ever imagine. He admitted he talks to Bush once a week by phone. <> Interestingly during writing this I found this: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/11/03/haggard.allegations/index.html
and the CNN video:
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2006/11/03/carroll.haggard.scandal.cnn
Although I knew about Haggard for a long while now... this tops things off really. "Wow, I didn't know that"
Duuhhhh!!
Now with the new presidential candidates I was comparing the Hillary and Barack's websites and it seems that her campaighn is so scripted. The television material she has posted is all commercials, but Barack's t.v. forum was actually live streaming videos of him talking to the people about issues.
I have family in Ohio and in fact I am originally from there. If you ever have a chance to go to Clevelnd you can see from the living standards all over that this Governor who endorsed Hillary is not really concerned with the mass majority.
I think a president should be concerned with solutions to problems our country is facing as a whole, but I'm just wondering if this is one of your biggest concerns, why aren't you finding a solution yourself? Buy a more economical car or even better, ride a bike to and from places. I'm more confused why our country as a whole is so spoiled on wasting things anyway.
I agree the president should adress the issues that concern the American people, but it is hard to please everyone. I couldn't imagine myself in that position? With all the issues encountered on a daily basis, Congress, and even foreign countries to deal with, it's a wonder he has made any worthwhile decisions.
I agree with Victoria that the president should be sensitive to the needs of Americans, but she's right. Americans as a group are spoiled and want the government to fix every financial problem that exists (and then complain about the resulting tax increases). The government has provided incentives that come with buying a more economical vehicle and everyone, not just Americans, needs to find a more economical and eco-friendly solution. This is becoming a much larger issue that will have devastating results for future generations.
I understand everyones frustration but I do think we might need to try and look at what he is up against.....its not all his choice and I think we need to realize there is alot more to being the president of the united states than just deciding the gas prices or what to do in Iraq. I think going back to the other Blog post on why we complain so much.......Maybe we should stop looking at what hes not doing and be thankful we have the country we do and look at what he IS doing! I wont say who's side im on in the situation because my opinion fiffers from situation to situation but I do think he has alot going on as PRESIDENT!
