Getting Inked
My 21st birthday is coming up in April, and my boyfriend, Scoot, is getting me a tattoo to celebrate the occasion; my first ever! I've wanted one ever since I was legal, but someone once told me to wait a year or two, and if I still wanted the same tattoo to go for it. Well, I did and I do. I'm getting a cross with roses on my lower back that was drawn and designed by my boyfriend. I'm thrilled by the prospect (Although, I have to actually wait a week after my birthday to get it since I'm going on a beach vacation with my dad, and he would KILL me!) Do any of you have tattoos? What is your opinion of them? Are they trashy or sexy? A great way of representing yourself or a horrible, scarring mark on your body?

I was 20 when I got my first tattoo. I was ecstatic. Needless to say, my daughter encouraged me to get it( since I had been talking about it forever). I took her along for the ride when I got it, and I have not regretted the tattoo or taking her to the tattoo parlour. I have a mid-sized 'dragon' tattoo on my back, in the upper-right shoulder.
There is an ink that can be removed much easier than traditional ink. The cost is not significantly higher for the removable ink. It has the same quality as the orginal ink, it just can be broken down for removal for a fraction of the cost. I heard about it on Clarke Howard, of all places. His assistant, Krista, is knowledgeable about tattoos and was giving her input.
Petite, discreet and colorful can be sexy, but anything large or ostentatious makes me think "trailer park".
I don't care for tatoos. I thought about it once but then I thought about the pain, so I changed my mind and have never looked back. I can't say that they are sexy, maybe a small one could be.
I find tattoos interesting, especially the henna-tinted patterns that Indians paint onto their skin. However, due to a fear/suspicion towards needles, I probably won't ever get a tattoo. I agree with Kelly though; anything too large (for example feathered wings on your back) seems trashy, but if it were of a certain design (Tribal, for example)it might be more tasteful.
Its trashy when it wears out. Its sexy if its never visible.(unless naked :D) I've always wondered why girls like to get them on there pants line though... uhm Im jsut going to say becuase showing it off requires some private skin to be uncovered? :P
i used to be fascinated by those, i had actually vowed to myself that i would get one when I turned 18. Its been two years and I stll dont have a tattoo,dont think il be getting one anymore.
it could sexy if its showed in a tastefull manner i guess.
