This is the first online class I have taken in my illustrious college career. There are many advantages to taking a class online, but I am not completely sold on them. It is more time consuming than attending a class, yet it allows you to work at your pace, and on your schedule.
Attending class allows you to get the assistance from classmates, as well as, your instructor, but you must attend classes four days a week, at most, and fight traffic and weather conditions.
Which method of learning do you like best?

I think that online classes are great when it comes to core curriculum, but when it comes down to courses that are more difficult and exclusively geared towards a particular major, I feel that it is important to take part and physically attend the classes. The only reason for this, is becuase a more difficult and specifically in-depth class, requires more attention between the instructor, classmates and student.
I like online classes for the simple fact, I don't have to leave home. But I do miss the interaction of the classroom. It's easier sometimes when you can get assistance face to face.
I like online classes for certain subjects. I don't think that I could take a Math or Political Science. I don't think anything would get turned in on time of at all.
This is my third online class and I prefer it more than attending classes on campus. I only had great experiences so far. The instructors and classmates are very helpful. It works with my schedule and my family.
I think online classes are great when it comes to workin around a person with a busy schedule but to me for a person to realy grasp it they have to be their in person

Forgot to put my name
Online classes are just another way of colleges making money. They probably do not pay teachers probably the same amount as if they were in a classroom setting. I think classroom instruction is better because you get to learn from your classmates also.
At first I really enjoyed taking on-line classes. This is nmy third semester taking them and up to this point I have been doing well. I think that some classes are easier on-line and some aren't. For some reason I really enjoy taking math classes on-line. The website that we use MY MATH LAB is really great and helps you solve all of the homework problems. I think that this class is kind of hard to take on-line. There is so much stuff that we have to do each week and it's hard to keep up, especially when you have a lot of personal stuff going on at home. It really depends on the person if on-line classes are well or not.
I prefer on-line classes to on-campus classes myself, but can you really work at your own pace?
I think online classes are better well at least for some courses, because you don’t have to attend to school everyday.
BJMORTON,
Yep. I teach at two school in two different states. We get paid the same if it's online or in the classroom.
Umm. I spend a lot more time on the online classes than in the classroom.
I completely agree with Victoria. I think the online classes are great for the core classes. Especially for those of us with such limited schedules. However, college teaches us how to interact in the work place both professionally and socially as well as teach us the fundamentals we need to thrive in our chosen fields. I think classroom instruction is extremely important when you get into the more advanced and focused classes. I believe it will prove beneficial when entering the workplace. Not to mention that networking and making contacts and friends is extremely helpful in finding jobs upon graduation.
On-CAmpus classes by far....you can get a better feel for the material you are learning versus Onlne-Classes
Haha I learned real quick this semster that some classes were never meant to be taught or taken online. I tried Public Speaking and my professor was great! .....BUT......taking Public Speaking and speaking to a video camera didnt really do anything for my confidence as far as Publically speaking goes. I agree that as far as core classes you really can get alot out of them but when it comes to the ones like public speaking, plant horticulture, or even fitness walking online?.......
