What is your definition of success?
I am reading this book, Success is not an accident, and it challenges you to think about what success is to you, it is funny because everyone is obviously different but at the end of the day their answers are about the same. I was just wondering what success meant to you, and do you think it happens by accident?

What does success mean to me? That is a good question. I realize there are different levels of success. For me, success is a well rounded life. Family, health, finacially secure, a decent job, home, car, etc. The most important part of success is peace of mind. Without peace of mind, nothing else seems important. And no, success does not happen by accident, this takes hard work and some sacrifices.
I don't believe in success to be accidental. I view success tobe something that you work hard for and sometimes even sacrifice.
I would consider success to be everything that Pmoten said, family, health, financial security, decent job, home, etc.
I agree with pmoten, that true success is achieved when a person has peace of mind. My ultimate goal in life is to be happy and proud of my accomplishments. Since the things I want are acquired by hard work and dedication, that is exactly what it will take to achieve success. I do believe that some fortunate individuals come by it easier or have a stroke of luck, but I don't feel it's worth the risk to sit around and wait for it.
I believe that you have acheived success, whenever your worries, no longer exist. When you acheive finacial success, you no longer have to worry about covering your expenses; when you acheive career success, you enjoy going to work everyday!!
Sucess, success!!!!. Just like you said, success can vary among us,but at the end it comes down to what means something to you. It depends on your values and what makes you happy in this life. Success comes hand to hand with happinest. For example, if I fix my car that's success for me but I bet that if my girlfriend had to fix her's the difference between fixing it or not don't mean success to her because she don't care about fixing cars.
Real success is when you are satisfied overall with your lifestyle and the way things are going for you in your career. You dont nessarily have to be a doctor or a lawyer to acheive success. Those occupations just allow you to live comfortably.

For me it's an easy definition. When I exceeded my expectations, I was successful.
I think it's different for everyone.
I think success is something that has to be achieved. You can just wake up one day and be successful. Success is differently interpreted to different people. Some may define success by how much money they have-being able to buy anything. Others may consider sucess as beating cancer or winning a baseball game. Basically, success comes down to surpassing expectations.
Great topic! I like the above answer Anne gave and I agree. My take on this is that success is definitely in the eye of the beholder, but no matter what, that person must have the drive to image their goals and achieve them successfully, no matter what they are.
I think that this a really good question. Most people assume that to be successful you have to make lots of money and be well known. Success is different for eveyone. I think that you are successful once you have achieved the goals that you have set for yourself.
