MLK, Jr. Day

Today we are commemorating the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr. Presently the federal government only acknowledges four individuals with their own holiday and MLK, Jr. day is one of them. Do you think that all business's & schools should observe MLK, Jr. Day since it is a holiday with such a positive message? Why or why not?

Even though the MLK holiday does have a positive message I don't believe all business's & schools should observe it. But I do believe that if individuals of the business's & schools would like to acknowledge the holiday, they should be allowed to participate. I think that most appreciate the efforts of Dr. King but not enough to acknowledge a day of tribute to him.

MLK, was one of the few men who stood up for mjor issues in America at that time. To day you would think that it would have become better thatn it is now, but as a black male I can tell you that my culture has become some what of a disgrace to what Dr. King stood for. If we dont teach our children and acknowledge that this man stood up for equal rights then it would not be an issue trying to elect a black president.MLK day should be recognized, what did Christopher Columbus do but try to find gold!

There are very few important figures in America with a holiday after them, so that makes this day special. I observe it, because Dr. King was an influencial person in American history. I wont require everyone to celebrate the day, but this day is suppose to represent all Americans.
