What Do you think?
I am new to blogging, so please take it easy with the criticism. I just wanted to know what everyone thought about "Why the media, feeds on inane topics?", would we benefit from not hearing about the Britney Spears', Jamie Lynn Spears' Michael Vick's, celebrity divorces and pregnancies, etc. Anyways who are we, to judge anyone in the first place, and do Americans not have enough fruitful information to keep them entertained ?

I am certainly guilty of picking up a People Magazine in the Dr's office.
The women on my tennis team love to gossip. It's a huge form of entertainment for them. I love it when they say, I'll keep this to myself. I think, No you won't!!!
It's interesting how Paris and Brittany get so much press. I don't know about Brittany, but I can say for sure that Paris has no talent. Not even a drop. Her grandfather is rich. [He's just decided to give Paris and her sister 5 million and give the rest of his considerable fortune to charity.] How do I know that? I'm sure I clicked on a news site. Guilty as charged!
I think we all have to be strong, and not click on the name Paris or Brittany. I'll try to do better, and I'll let you know how that's working for me. I am a news addict after all!
Somebody has to have a job and if people want top hear dirt about someone then its going to happen. The real issues like, the economy, state of America, and the recession we are in are overshawdoed by these dumb stories of fallen stars. You have to remember they are humans too!
I think that some people think that their lives are boring. They depend on stories from the media to put excitment into their lives. The "excitment" of celebrities in some way fills a void in their lives.
i dont really think we need to hear problems from other peolpe, because we already have enough with our own issues
part of the problem is that americans are so hungry for this information
it's like people blaming columbia for how much cocaine is trafficked into the country. if there wasn't a demand then there wouldn't be a supply
I feel like the first step to stopping this is for people to stop paying attention to celebrity non-news
I truly agree with this post. America is always judging celebreties. There is better things to know in life than stars pregnacy and turmoil.
it's like that tiny part of our human nature that loves to see someone fail. we can all admit to having that one moment in life at feeling joy at someone's expense.
Even Gwyneth Paltrow was recently quoted as saying "There's obviously an appetite for gossip. It's very addictive to see what people are doing and wearing and saying--and who is breaking up."
I agree, though. These topics are trivial compared to the true issues. It would be in everyone's best interests to turn our focus on issues that merit more attention.
I really don't know why people are so obsessed with this type of Information. Honestly I think its sad what America is entertained by.
