Public or Private Schools?
Which one do you think provides a better education, public or private? Also, do you think our government should provide vouchers for the parents to use at any school they choose or should the government make those decisions for you?
I feel that there are some public school that are good but people feel that private school are better.I disagree because it is more about the teacher and the parent with the student that make a school what it is. Not the building. No the government should not decided for you it should be a parent choice. Yes they should provide vouchers to those who can't afford it.
Well both have their advantages and disadvantages. For example the education its better in public schools because they have to meet a high standard of education and private schools only have to meet the minimum.
I think it all depends on the school. I have personally been a victim of a very BAD public school system. The teacher's were inadequate, the students behaved horribly, and the school officials did very little to rectify these issues. But, it's all about location. I'm going to school for education, and I will be sure to research the school systems before moving and accepting a position.
One of sisters put her kids in a private religious school. The teachers did not have college degrees. My sister taught there. I think she liked the idea of being a teacher. She has not attended one day of college. Well . . . she did attend my American Lit. class a few times when she visited me in Texas.
Her children were getting a poor education so they wouldn't hear--close your ears--Evolution.
I thing every one of those schools should be closed. Our children should get an education, which should include SCIENCE!
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who shared their opinions with me on this topic. My view is that every student should receive a voucher to go to any school, be it public or private. The voucher should be used by the parent for the school they believe to be the best choice.
I think it depends on the student. To my knowledge teachers who work in private schools are not to hold a degree in education. I am pro to public school because I work at one, but for some of the students lower class numbers works better. Congress has passed last year that children with special needs receive vouchers if they have attended one year at a public school. I am sure that this won't be the only vouchers that we'll see in our lifetime. If this works I believe that every child will have the option of deciding on sending their children to public or private school.
I think that depending on where you live public is just as good as private. The government in my opinion should give ou vouchers to ensure that your child has the same oportunity as another. Growing up in CT we had a program called project concern that bused inner city kids to suburban schools so that they could get a better education. That is something that every child/parent should have a chance to partake in. Private schools may be better but not everyone has the money to send their child to private schools.

I agree with Ammy.
