Wine As A Career
I'm considering becoming a wine connossieur or even winemaking as a career. However I'm wondering if that would be an expensive career, that is, there are more costs than profits.
My girlfriend and I, enjoy relaxing in front of the TV, drinking a bottle of "Hogue, Late Harvest White Riesling," which is a fairly sweet, white wine. We've also enjoyed a "White Merlot'" but it seems to give us minor headaches after consuming the entire bottle, which is nothing to a wine drinker. We have acquire a taste for white wines over red wines. We enjoy drinking wine with pizza, cheese spread and ritz crackers, pork chop, chicken breasts, and etc.
I have a student in AZ who owns a vinyard, so if you'd like to chat with him, let me know.
I saw a woman on T.V. (a cooking show) who was a wine sommelier (expert at pairing wines with food). She was young--early 20's. I think it would be an interesting career.
Have you been to a wine tasting. They have them occasionally at Sugos and every weekend at Wolfe Vinyard in N. GA--45 minutes up 400.
I don't know that much about wine. When I do have a glass, I much prefer red. Most of it tastes so bitter, but there are those select few that don't shock your taste buds. This is kinda off topic, but I would love to bike throuogh Napa Valley one day!

I'd very much like to chat with this person. I'll look into the wine sommelier career option when I can. And unfortunately, I've never been to a wine tasting but it sounds interesting!
If that is a career that you are really interested in. I say go for it. Personally I am not a real wine drinker. My boyfriend, from Belgium and he loves vine. He has open my eyes to many different kinds of wines but I am still not a big fan.
